Three years ago, file-management in our firm was in fact absent. It consisted of a handwritten calendar, which should be copied by hand, in any other calendar, little pink phone messages on Scattered, notes in the hard file folder, which is often stressful than treasure hunts, Rolodex cards, information scattered in word lists, and what we remember in our minds. timesheets were handwritten on legal pads, then type in a company with limited function payroll program. liquidation expenses unrecorded, forgotten and billed.

Thank God my boss has an amazing memory, and the Speaker was scary numbers vomit on demand, but they had to work with me. As a paralegal, I am a constant note-taker and refer to printed material for accuracy. However, in the unstructured part of our system, I was just creating more bureaucracy to get lost in the shuffle. This was obviously not a stellar system for further use.

After some research, I convinced my boss to buy Amicus Attorney. What a difference! The program is like a spider web, weaving its effect all the information in a central area of our networked computers. Files are stored in the program according to our hard copy files. All people and contact information when they apply to certain files, shortcuts to these files. Daily Mail in the program. Events, dates, and planned to-do's will be included in the calendar function. There is even a date calculator with different functions to precise deadlines for the reception. Phone messages are directly involved in the communication function of the program, with the correct addresses and phone numbers easily accessible, and just as easily to the corresponding files.

Our Word and WordPerfect documents link to the files, and more so, documents are actually assembled in the program - for example, letters, by Amicus Attorney guarantees have updated addresses, when a contact, but rather than pulling an old document which may contain old information.

Some features of the program are a particularly useful little button - one click converts the same information in a worksheet to facilitate settlement. At the end of the month, the timesheets in a linked processor payroll of several functions, the rapid production of many reports, the performance.

Amicus Attorney also created a chronological list - a time table of all file entries. For a note-taker paralegal as I do, it's a one-stop shopping, where I see the whole picture at a glance.

Maintaining a file management program requires care. In the long run, every process of a law firm is easier and it becomes a second nature to information. This care is definitely worth it for the customer quality.

Many file-management software programs have add-on features and different packages from which to choose, which all enterprises, large or small. If you are interested in programs such as this, a Google search for "lawyer file management is excellent.
