Raleigh, NC-Rosen Law Firm advises its clients against a law that, on their hobbies and careers. Deprivation of liberty without parents who do not keep pace with their child support payments could be their ability to hunt restricted under a state law to punish Deadbeat parents.

The law GS 50-13.12, which a decade ago, says a judge may revoke a person hunting license if that person does not pay child support. Judges may also revoke privileges, including driving and professional licenses. The law says that the "loss of licensing privileges may be for non-compliance with the Pay Child Support, or failure to comply with the subpoena, according to child support for the establishment of the paternity proceedings."

The question is whether the removal of the licenses is a good incentive for parents to deal with child maintenance payments. "For many people in North Carolina, hunting is a popular pastime," says Lee Rosen, a specialist in family law specialist and president of Rosen Law Firm. "Telling a parent they have to pay support sometimes not enough, you have to threaten, if not their lives will be less because it is."

So that the day after Thanksgiving, when hunting season begins in earnest, thousands of North Carolinians head out in search of an 8-point buck. For those with child support obligations, they
need to ensure that their membership fees paid.

Rosen has been practicing divorce law in North Carolina for more than twenty years. "Before this law was to Deadbeat parents to pay, as a 10-year olds to their room," says Rosen.
