The school today is dramatically different from what it was 20 years ago. It used to have that child off the bus, milled around the corridors in the classroom, on the playground, and went home - safe and sound . Today, we see metal detectors at the entrances of schools, armed policemen in the halls, bomb-sniffing dogs, and the list goes on.
Legal costs are significantly increased. Schools pay for lawyers and can be found at the end of the defense in court. While the legal support has become a part of today's school, but also money that would be in the direction of future education is concerned.
